Are you looking for an enjoyable activity or just want to get out and rest? Prefer mild temperatures, or prefer a sweltering summer day?

As early as March, the first droves of people begin to roll into Ibiza in greater numbers. It starts to get warm by then, with daytime temperatures reaching about 20 degrees Celsius. The end of April is the first long school vacation of the semester, and that’s when the first really big groups of tourists start pouring into the island. In late April, temperatures are already pleasantly warm with highs of around 23 degrees Celsius, although evenings can still be chilly at times and there is a greater chance of rain.

For April, it is advisable to stay somewhere with a furnace or heater. When it gets wet outside, it can get a little chilly and then you want to sit inside if necessary.

Starting in May, rainy days become scarcer and people can go outside to enjoy the sun. Temperatures rise to around 25 degrees and sometimes even higher. At that point, you don’t need an oven. At night it may be a little cooler, but not nearly as cold as in the months before. The same goes for October. The weather will still be wonderfully warm, especially at the beginning of the month. Residents of Ibicenco consider this month the most beautiful of all. Toward the end of October, however, it can get cooler again, marking the end of the real season. Moreover, from mid to late October, there are many fun parties and closing festivities that are crowded with locals. Consider the Elements in Benirras, Chiringuito and Bambuddha Grove.

So what’s so special about these months, April, May and October? House and hotel prices. Compared to high season, you often pay half the price. Flights to the island are also often cheaper (keep in mind that it’s best to book early for major school vacations, as attendance can sometimes be very high on a Saturday if you book too late).

The months of June and September are also pleasantly warm. You can also enjoy an evening outside, grilling on the barbecue or eating dessert. The island gets a little busier, but the busiest periods are only in July and August. All the parties take place around that time (starting in late May), and they continue until early October, when the so-called “closing parties” for the big nightclubs take place.

July and August are hot! August in particular can get quite hot, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. But don’t worry. Sun, sand and sea are always nearby, so you always have a chance to cool off. Most homes and hotels have a pool anyway if you want to take a dip to cool off. The restaurants and clubs are nice and full, while the beaches are a bit more crowded. Reservations are recommended if you plan to dine at a popular restaurant.
